BRO 5 Artist Series | Taylor Patton

Artist SeriesAnya Violet

Babes Ride Out Artist Series highlights the talented people in our community. Every artist donates their time and creativity to create a custom piece for the BRO5 Raffle. We are so happy to be able to support Moto F.A.M. through the proceeds of the raffle each year. Moto FAM raises funds for riders that have been hurt in a motorcycle related accident, or the family of a fallen rider. Thank you so much to Vans for contributing the skate decks for the Artist Series this year!

Meet Taylor Patton!

Where are you from originally?

Im originally from a super small town in the interior of British Columbia Canada. The population is less than 200. Its tiny but I love it so much.

 Where do you live now?

I currently live in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia Canada but I am going back to the west coast of BC in the fall.

What first got you into art?

Honestly, I don't even remember. I loved colouring books and then I started to try and draw the images in the colouring books rather than colour them. I just found it so cool to be able to draw something from your head or just to be able to look at something and draw it.

How would you describe your style?

Oh man haha this makes me laugh because so many people refer to me as a "chameleon" because Im always changing style wise. I don't really have a set style, I just like using whatever is inspiring me at the moment to create art. I don't really want to just stick to one style.

What inspires you? Any particular artist?

I find a lot of my inspiration comes from tattoos and just tattoo culture and style in general, there are just so many great tattoo artist on instagram and everywhere now a days. I also get inspired by the 60's-70's era I just love everything about it. I could go on forever about everything that inspires me because I find so many things cool and inspiring haha.

What is your favourite medium?

I would have to say my favourite medium is just thick white paper and a sharpie.

When did you first hear about babes ride out?

I think I found it just cruising around instagram one day. The motorcycle community has inspired me a lot, especially women riders because they are so bad ass and always seem like the coolest, most down to earth chicks.

I don't have any connections to the motorcycle community other than I hope I can learn to ride one day! Its one of my goals.

What are you contributing to the raffle and what inspired you to create it?

Im doing a custom skate deck for the raffle I cant wait! What inspired me for the deck was traditional tattoo flash style, like sailor jerry sort of deal. I aimed of doing a twist of that with badass pinup motorcycle girls.

Thanks so much!
