The logistics & requirements that go into finding an event location are longer than a CVS receipt. This event was designed for the adventurous types who love the beauty of nature, road side oddities, and a good place to grab a bite to eat. Whether this is your first time coming to Babes Ride Out East or if you’ve been coming for the past 3 years, there is always something new and amazing around every corner.

By no means is this “it” as the Catskills are vast with incredible routes and scenic stops, but rather a few places we feel deserve a mention. We will be adding to this, but figured this would be a great place to list some of our favorites and if you have a few of your own, post a comment in the Facebook event page dedicated to Babes Ride Out East Coast 4. Let’s start with Narrowsburg, NY, the town itself that has so much to offer and is walking distance.

Babes Ride Out East Coast 3 Suggested Day Rides

DIY Tips, EventsAshmore Ellis

Half the fun of being a motorcyclist is planning your own adventures. Since Babes Ride Out is a true riding event, camp is pretty vacant from 9 am until 4 pm as ladies rip around the Catskills in search of adventure! We have put together some of the best scenic routes filled with attractions, great food, and gas stations. Since there are no group rides, its 100% the riders to do the following

  • Download directions to each spot (we've provided clickable links) as cell service usually is void in the mountains
  • Grab a BIltwell route map from merch booth to keep on hand
  • Find your own riding buds based on your abilities (make friends ladies! That's why we're here!)
  • If riding in a group or riding with new people, have a riders meeting before you head out to go over safety, abilities, designate a sweep and a lead.

If none of these adventures suite your taste, feel free to research the area and find your own personal adventure. The Catskills are FULL of amazing history and folklore that will keep you busy all day long.

Big Indian Rivers: 143 Miles Roundtrip

Each part of this route mirrors some of the Catskill waterways including the Pepacton Reservoir, the Esopus Creek and the West Branch Neversink River. Hitting Cherry Ridge Wild Forest, and Big Indian Wilderness - you’ll want some good tunes for this ride.

Mountain Mamas: 194 Miles Roundtrip

Peace-Love-Motorcycles: 184 Miles Roundtrip

A historical tour of the Catskills, marking the site of Woodstock ’69, and heading north all the way up to the famed Kaaterskill Falls. This route cuts through ravines with twists and turns that we could ride for daze.

The New Jersey Devil: 91 Miles Roundtrip

This option is great for enduros or those who just want a little fun in the dirt, this route brings you down to Old Mine Road, a historical highway along the Delaware River which is amazingly still in use. With dirt offshoots and abandoned farms, this area is one of New Jersey’s hidden secrets. Stay safe, avoid the potholes and don’t get arrested trespassing!

The Threesome: 84 Miles Roundtrip

Babes Ride Out East Coast 2 | Mountain Mamas Route

EventsAshmore Ellis

Mountain Mamas is a nice little route under 200 miles that will take you through some epic scenery and will give you time to explore. One of the most intriguing stops is in Roscoe, not far from camp, where you can find Dundas Castle. Rider beware, legend has it that if you take anything from this hallowed ground, you will be haunted by the ghost of Josephine Dundas, who they claim was locked in an upstairs room and was committed to the insane asylum after her husband's death. Others say that the three heart-shaped ponds on the property fill with blood on the full moon. YIKES! I've personally walked the halls of this boarded up castle and I have to say, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and the odd feeling of anxiety and sadness are very present.

The Catskill Mountains | The Tonic of Wilderness

EventsAshmore Ellis

Author: Kelly McCaughey

This June, Babes Ride Out returns to the Catskill Mountains in New York for our second East Coast all-ladies motorcycling and camping event, where the mountains, forests and roads will become our home for three days and two nights.

The Catskills as a destination were born of the need for the “tonic of wilderness”. As the backyard playground to New York City, the Catskills became the ultimate escape from the bustle and industry of the city. “America’s first great vacationland” filled with grand mountains, vast forests and pristine waters.

Kaaterskill Falls | One of our routes from camp. You can park your moto and hike in to cool down at these beautiful falls. Justa quick rip from camp.

The Catskills played an essential role in forming the first distinctively American archetype of Frontiersmen, tempting all those enticed by the undiscovered and unclaimed wild. Over the years, The Catskills has attracted tycoons and gangsters, preachers and outlaws, artists, musicians, spiritualists, outcasts and rebels.

People flocking to Woodstock. Now these roads are basically empty.

Ride out on our planned routes and explore rustic towns like Phoenicia, Woodstock, and Bethel Woods, following those who came before you in search of something wild. Cruise along the winding Hawk’s Nest, taking in the majestic panoramic view over the Delaware River, or take your motorcycle to the breathtaking summit of High Point State Park. Explore the stunning beauty of Kaaterskill Falls, dive into the Peekamoose Blue Hole, or take a much-needed pit stop at the Phoenicia Diner, before returning to camp in the afternoon for an evening of games, music and fireside fun.

You won't want to miss the Hawks Nest. Virtually on the edge of a cliff, you can rip through this road on the way to and from camp. Towns are on either side for lunch and since its on the Delware river, you can also stop for a swim.
