Where are you from originally?
I was born and raised in Encinitas, CA.
Where do you live now?
I've been a resident of Long Beach, CA for the last 12 years.
What first got you into art?
I would say my mom was the first person to introduce me to art. She would have art classes at her book store when I was a kid. I remember being so drawn to it at a very young age. I went to art school because I knew that was the only thing I was interested in. Once I finished school and got a tattoo apprenticeship, and have now been tatttooing for about 5 years. My good friend who I have worked with over the years taught me how to use 1Shot and paint helmets.
How would you describe your style?
American traditional tattoos mixed with anything bright and floral. I try to keep everything simple, but clean.
What inspires you? Have any artists in particular been an influence on you?
I love the graphic nature of traditional tattoos, so that plays a huge part in my style. The artists I work with every day inspire me the most, to keep creating new and exciting work. Without them I wouldn't be where I'm at now.
What is your favorite medium?
Tattooing, 1Shot, and watercolor, in that order.
When did you first hear about Babes Ride Out?
I heard about this campout in 2013 when Anya asked me to drive the chase truck to Borrego. I didn't have a bike then, but I knew by year two I'd be there. 2014 was the first year I attended, and 2015 was when I started tattooing at the event. Since then it's been my favorite trip to make every year.
What is your connection to the motorcycle community?
Riding and painting helmets keep me involved with the moto community. I tattoo for a living, and the two worlds seem to be intertwined quite a bit.
Do you ride? If so, what do you ride?
Yes! I ride a 1997 Sportster XL883.
If you were a motorcycle what kind would you be?
My bikes are always an extension of me at that time in my life, so I'd say I'd be my own bike.
Have you ever been to Joshua Tree? What was your experience there?
I've been to Joshua Tree many times. It's a quick drive from Long Beach, and every time I go I love it even more. There's just something about that place that gets me every time
What will you be contributing to this years raffle?
This year I will be making a custom painted Lowbrow Frisco tank.
Tell us about what inspired you to create it?
I wanted to keep it simple, but also showcase my style. It's going to be a mix of classic chopper vibes with my tattoo flash art.
