Dude to be honest I’m not really good at talking about myself, but ill try. Im Leia Nachele of Lunation Leathers…I’m a one woman army! All of 29 years young from Pittsburgh, Pa. I’m a lady leather fiend! I’ve done some form of expression all my life but didn’t really find that one thing I craved until I found leather. I started carving about 3 years ago and just couldn’t put down my swivel knife and last year I turned it into a fulltime gig. I was taught by a super rad lady who had 20 years invested into leather, so I lucked out (ladies teaching ladies awesome shit !). I love the fact that I can create something useful durable and pretty from something dead. A lot of my leather is ethically sourced too which I think is rad. Heavily art nouveau and easy rider style based, I find myself lost for hours in the curves and cuts into leather…..
Kinda like riding. I’ve always loved the trips I’d take when I was younger on the back of bikes, the winding curvy back roads of the Appalachian Mountains. My mom use to ride a lot in the seventies on a 71 Bonneville Triumph and the stories she told always made me love bikes since I was little. It didn’t help that I was obsessive about old films like Born Losers and Wild Angels (best soundtracks ever thx Davie Allan), when I was younger. It wasn’t until recently that I got over the fear and took the plunge into actually riding alone. I guess I just got sick of always being on the back and wanted to feel free. I actually have never had a driver’s license for a vehicle and only got it so I could get my Class M license.
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of BRO by contributing to such a killer event and for bringing this to the east coast! It’s amazing to see so many women be apart and support one another and treat each other like the goddesses we are. I’m beyond thrilled to make a wicked back patch with a custom sterling inlay by Sarah VanTassel of IRON WILL SILVER for a killer babe to rip around with.

IRON WILL SILVER
I am Sarah VanTassel & I started Iron Will Silver in September of 2015 after loosing a full time freelance photography job. I was inspired to learn something completely new & different, and decided that I wanted to shift careers completely. I have always admired the work of metal smiths, so I decided to give it a try and immediately fell in love! Everything I have learned about this craft so far has been on my own through trial and error along side Youtube! I am so incredibly excited to see where this new venture takes me and what I end up creating along the way. Every piece teaches me something new and builds my confidence.
When Leia reached out to me to add some silver to her AMAZING patch for Babes Ride Out, I felt so honored & excited! I attended BRO in October and being around all of those amazing woman helped to really solidify my decision to get into riding and to be able to contribute & give a little something back to that feels so good.
I got my moto license at the end of Aug. 2015 and got my first bike the week after getting home from Babes Ride Out! Over the past few months I have met some of the most extraordinary woman riders here in Pittsburgh and am very pumped to ride with these babes! The fact that BRO is coming to the East Coast is really awesome! I can't wait to meet all you wonderful East Coast ladies! Here's to 2016! So many new adventures and experiences ahead!
