One of the really fun things about having a motorcycle is making it your own. It takes some time to bond with your bike and really fall in love. Well, that is not the case for me at all when it comes to my 2013 Triumph Bonneville T100. I fell in love with this bike long before it was mine!

I cant really say what made me love Triumphs. I am not going to say that it wasn’t Marlon Brando or Steve McQueen. There is just something about the classic look of the Bonneville in particular that has grabbed my attention since I was a teenager. I always knew that I wanted one.

Having grown up riding dirt bikes I have become accustomed to a riding position that is a bit more leaned forward with my knees gripping and elbows bent. This is just how I feel most comfortable on a motorcycle. This is how I have the most fun an feel the most in control of my machine. The first time I actually sat on a Bonneville I felt that same feeling I feel on my dirt bike. Yes, it is much bigger and heavier than a dirt bike but the weight distribution makes it feel pretty light for a street bike. I will happily admit that looks are what first attracted me to the Bonneville but the power is what gives me butterflies whenever I know I am about to go for a ride.

When I first bought my Bonneville (his name is Apollo, by the way) You could not get me off him and it was only a couple of months before I left for a 2,000 mile road trip allover California with some friends.

Since I got my bike I have been doing modifications to it in phases. As much as I love the way it looks fresh off the showroom floor, it is always fun to give it a personal touch. It has gone through many phases and I am not finished yet!

Ultimately I have decided to go for more of a Dirt Tracker look and we are currently on Phase 4 of 5. Well... maybe 6. We'll see!

I have so much love for this bike! Apollo and I have shared many miles! In 2016 Triumph came out with  Bonneville T120 ... Yep 1200 cc's. I have had the pleasure of taking one of those babies for a spin and that extra power took this bike to the next level for me!!!
